Hook Runners Update

Hi runners It’s now just over 9 months since we had our first Hook Runners group run on a cold, dark, October evening and 4 months since we became an officially affiliated running club and there has been so much going on! ABC Graduation – Change of Location

For those attending the ABC Graduation at parkrun on Saturday, please note that Basingstoke parkrun will now be at the usual location of War Memorial Park, rather than Crabtree Plantation.  The change is cue to the cancellation of some events in War Memorial Park. We will be meeting at the children’s playground in War Memorial Park from around 8:30am, the run starts at 9am. Don’t forget to register on the parkrun website if you’ve not already done so and print out and bring along your barcode!

Plans for Hook Fun Run

The Hook Fun Run is fast approaching and Hook Runners will be there in force! We will set up our flag and gazebo at number 2 on this plan – meet us there from 10:30 for a chat, club photo and warm up!  After the prize giving, we plan to meet at the White Hart for a drink. Hook Fun Run & Road Race

Good morning fellow Hookers, I hope you all had a good Bank Holiday weekend. It’s now May, which can mean only one thing….Hook Fun Run & Road Race on Sunday 21st May, 2 weeks away! Latest news

It’s been a busy couple of week for Hook Runners. Since we became an official running club at the EGM on 7 March, our kit has landed, been distributed and been tried out in races! 18 March brought the ABC parkrun graduations. It might have been a dull and overcast day but it didn’t dampen our spirits and the Hookers were out in force as we marshalled the whole course, as well as running with the ABCers and cheering along the route! Don’t forget that we have the Injury Prevention and Nutrition Presentation this evening at the Raven Inn at 7.30pm, and don’t forget to bring money for bar refreshments! All are welcome and it will be a great way to get some advice to help with your running. Another date for your diary is the EGM on 7 March (7.45pm at the Community Centre) which is when we will elect the Committee and propose the annual subscription for the club.
