Group Runs

Running for the fun of it!

Hook Runners could be described as a social club that goes running - We pride ourselves on our inclusivity and welcome runners of all abilities. In addition to the regular training sessions throughout the week, many of us go out in small groups for relatively short, chatty, social runs on the roads and trails around Hook and surrounding villages, enjoying coffee and cake afterwards. The more hardy souls take part in our regular “dawn patrol” runs at 6am on Monday and Friday mornings and there is usually a gentle 5k ish recovery run on Monday evenings.

In addition to regularly attending Saturday morning Parkrun’s at Edenbrook, Basingstoke and other nearby locations, there are also longer runs on Sunday mornings where members can choose between groups running different paces and distances.

Most weekends many Hook Runners put on their purple shirts to represent the club at various local, national and even International races, we are usually able to offer members 1-2 free places in the annual London Marathon through our membership of English Athletics, and others have raced in the Tokyo, Boston, New York, Paris and Berlin marathons!
